A boutique Malaysia leather supplier based in Penang, Malaysia helmed by Anthony since 2022 with the aim to provide affordable excellent quality leathers that leather crafters need to make great craftsmanship hand-made leather products.
Island Leather Supply focus on offering the most important core material of any handmade leather item which is – the leather. For us, we have been able to assemble a wide variety of leathers offering that is made possible by the network of incredible suppliers and partners we have developed relationships with over the years.
We have personally vetted and truly believe in each and every product in my store, and it is our hope that these resources will support leather workers in their craft, from the budding hobbyist to the established and seasoned makers.

There are a number of tannages, but 2 tannages are the most common in our shop.
1). Vegetable tanned

Both chrome-tanned leather and vegetable-tanned leather have their own unique qualities and characteristics, and which one is “better” ultimately depends on the intended use and personal preference.
Chrome-tanned leather is made using chromium salts and is known for its soft, pliable feel and fast tanning process. It is also resistant to moisture and discoloration, making it a popular choice for items like shoes, belts, and leather goods that will be frequently exposed to the elements.
On the other hand, vegetable-tanned leather is made using natural tannins derived from tree bark and other plant matter. It has a more natural appearance and develops a unique patina over time, making it a popular choice for leather goods that are intended to look better with age, such as leather jackets, wallets, and bags. Vegetable-tanned leather is also more environmentally friendly, as the tanning process uses fewer chemicals and is less toxic than the chrome-tanning process.

It’s really simple! You may make an online purchase either BEFORE or AFTER you have registered an online account on Island Leather Supply website.
Follow these easy steps:
- Select your product and click Add to Cart to add the item into your shopping cart.
- Choose the quantity (qty) you need and click Add to Cart.
- You may continue to browse other items by clicking “Continue Shopping” OR click on the category tabs on the top page bar. Just repeat steps 1 & 2 for all other selected products.
- Once you have finished selecting your products, simply complete your delivery details and proceed to payment.
We can still take orders over the phone or Whatsapp, however, please note that due to short staffing, we may need to get a good phone number and name to contact you back later to confirm the order.
Our website is open 24/7, 7 days a week, of course, so this will always be your best option for placing orders as you will not need to wait for anyone to get back to you!
We are unable to apply coupons and sale/promotional prices when entering orders manually. You will need to place your order via our website to get these savings.
ILS only ships to Malaysia and Singapore customers at the moment by the following courier companies:
Malaysia: DHL, Jnt Express, Ninjavan.
Singapore: Janio & Ninjavan
Shipping costs and estimated time of delivery will be calculated for you during checkout. Any additional customs/duties will be the responsibility of the customer
You can expect your order to ship within 24-48 hours after the order has been completed, during regular business hours. Please note, if you place your order after 8:00 AM (GMT+8) on a Friday, the order will go out the next business day, Monday.
West Malaysia: 2-4 Business days
East Malaysia and Singapore: 7-10 Business days
